Black History Week’s activities: This was an exciting week filled with creative and informative activities based on traditions from Ghanaian culture as well as famous Black people from around the world such as Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama.
Children researched the world and Olympic 100m and 200m sprint champion “Usain Bolt” and designed a pair of trainers for him using both conventional drawings as well as high tecbh IT versions on the Smart Board.
Children created wall pictures out of African fabric using Ghanaian Adinkra signs.
Children and staff engaged in lively African drumming and dance hosted by traditional drummers who sang various songs from the numerous dialects in Ghana.
Children and Staff alike wore African attire and brought in their favourite Ghanaian dish to discuss and share.
