I followed the QTS Graduate Teaching Programme of intensive learning and teaching at the same time, in a primary school in London and have been teaching the British National Curriculum for over 10 years now. Previously, I have been the Phase Leader for Years 3 and 4 in a three form entry primary school; PSHE and SEAL Co-Ordinator, Curriculum Leader; Literacy co – coordinator, Maths Team Leader,Science Team Leader, EAL Tutor and International Schools Ambassador. I was engaged in other roles and responsibilities as part of the Senior Management Teams in different schools across London, supporting school management and educational issues. My teaching experience spans KS1, KS2 as well as KS3 and stretches from the UK, France, Middle-East to the Far East. Recently I have heading and undertaken senior management roles, training, teaching and counseling local Emirati Principals and teachers as a Primary Cluster Advisor in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi and neighbouring districts in the UAE; as part of the exciting educational reform initiative currently underway in the UAE. I also taught ESOL to local Emirati teaching staff and management, managed foreign staff and monitored professional development issues pertaining to them. I was the Senior Leader managing and monitoring Years 2, 3 & 4 in a six form entry international primary school in Dubai as well and that added greatly to my ability and expertise of managing my own school. I assisted with monitoring and inspections of schools with the LEA in the UK, and relevant inspection teams in the Middle-East. I have a Masters’ degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management and a BA (Hons) degree in English Literary Studies and History as well as various other educational certificates relevant for managing my own primary school. I would like to read a PHD in Education when I find the right time to do so. I enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures, reading novels, going to the cinema, socializing and spending quality time with my family. |
